Marcello is in his 50‘s and began his artistic work as an actor in Italy. From 1982 to 1995, he performed in Italy, joining the most famous theatre companies and playing a large part of the traditional Italian plays, as well as some movies for cinema and television. In 1995, he moved to France and began his career as a director by adapting authors from the new Italian dramaturgy. Since 2003, he has been the director of his own theatre company. 

Marcello can advise you on the best shows in Paris. Very friendly and helpful, he can also help you book a restaurant or a show. 

An Italian man from Sicily, he is talkative and very warm, yet he knows how to remain discreet. Very approachable and respectful at the same time he would be delighted to share with you a cool drink, coffee, tea or an aperitif of an evening.

He speaks fluent italian, good english and has some knowledge of spanish and german.
About your host
Your independent and private dwelling
The studio offered by Marcello is located in the famous district of Montmartre, in a white stone building built in 1850. 
This large 40m2 independent un-hosted studio is in the same building as Marcello’s own private residence which is located on the first floor (without an elevator). The studio apartment he offers his guests is very luminous with 9 yards of windows. It's visible beams and original honey-coloured antique wooden parquet give it a very chic parisian style. Marcello who is a very artistic host, decorated and painted the studio himself, taking care to respect the original style and woodwork which breaths a warm and nostalgic air into the residence. 
The old-style parisian oak parquet floors combined with the the layered freestone embedded in the walls give this suite charm. This blending of classic and modern elements exude a mysterious allure not uncommon to that which can be found within the decor of a classic theatre hall.
Studio bed
There is a queen size double bed (160x190) with a very romantic net backdrop. Down pillows or pillows without feathers for those who suffer from allergies are available. 
 A sofa bed can be offered as a bed for 1 additional Person (child or adult if you wish to save money). The sofa bed and main bed fit when the sofa is open side by side with no partition. 
The room is equipped with soundproofing (double glazing), as it is located in a very thriving and commercial street (Marcello also offers ear stops if you need and request them).
There is a small bathroom with washbasin, shower, and toilet. A wide array of various toiletries are also at your disposal (soap, hair dryer, bathroom towel) If your stay extends beyond 4 nights, a bathrobe is offered for ladies, upon request.

Breakfast On arrival Marcello will show you how to use the kitchen so you can prepare your own breakfasts. He will point out where to find the nearest bakeries where you can purchase - just like the locals - your own baguettes and croissants each morning.

You will find coffee, tea, milk, chocolate powder, fruit juice, cereal, butter, jam and toast in the kitchen. Ham, cheese, eggs, fresh fruits and yogurt can also be provided for an extra charge of 10 euro per day.

Kitchen The kitchen is available and suitable for light and non-smelly cooking, equipped with a table and chairs, sink, fridge, a cooker, microwave, crockery and a supply of pasta, rice, salt, pepper, vinegar oil, coffee, tea, sugar, jam, cereal, cakes and biscuits.
Additional information 
You may arrive at any time of the day. Dropping luggage is also possible at any time. Please remember to always contact your host in advance so that he may know when to expect you and give you the proper welcome. Upon arrival your host may require you to leave some identity papers such as a passport or driver's license in exchange for the keys to his dwelling. If for any reason you do not wish to do this, you may leave instead a personal check as a security deposit for the keys.

Marcello does not own any pets. If your small cat or dog is well trained, it is most welcome. However it is not permitted to leave your small friend alone in the bedroom. If you bring along a small pet, we ask that you please leave a security deposit of 400 euro cash upon arrival.

Marcello does not smoke, and the studio is only offered to non smoking guests.

If you suffer from allergies and dust, Marcello’s accommodation is not the right one for your Parisian stay as it is an old building decorated with old items that have come from various flea markets. 

The studio has 9 metres of windows and even with the curtains, it is impossible to block out all the light and difficult to achieve the perfect darkness to sleep in. If you think you will be disturbed by the light please feel free to bring a sleeping mask.
 Same goes for noise: Marcello’s studio is on a popular and busy street, so we suggest that you bring your ear plugs with you as you may have to face noise at night particularly on weekends.

Marcello sleeps on a different floor in his own apartment. During your stay you will meet each other if you wish, arranging it with him beforehand. You may exchange travel stories and ask him for more Parisian information. Additional Services 
If you would like a guided tour of Paris or a guided visit of your host's neighbourhood (shopping, cafés, restaurants, open markets), Marcello would be pleased to accompany you and show you the real Paris, not the one in your guide book (15 € / hour). Please give him advance notice if this appeals to you so he may sure of his availability.

Marcello is happy to share with you the basics of classic Italian cooking (20 € / hour plus the price for buying the food). Please give him advance notice if this appeals to you. 
In the evening, Marcello can prepare a dinner for you. His speciality is Italian pasta and salads (from 10 € / person - Please ask at arrival or ideally, before arriving).

Wine and cheese tasting is a speciality of Marcello's; do not hesitate to ask him to put together a tasting for you (45 € / 2 pers for 3 wines plus some "amuse-gueule") or (30 € / 2 persons for 1 wine and cheese tasting). Please give advance notice if this appeals to you.

As a theatre director, Marcello can also give you theatre training in French or Italian (prices on request according to the number of hours and days as well as the number of meetings).

For 10 € extra, you can use Marcello's washing machine (per use). One free single use for any stay longer than 5 nights.
Apartment #260 Arrondissement: 18 ème Just below Montmartre, this Paris district is famous for it’s romantic reputation and its artistic history. Marcello offers a private, independent and large un-hosted studio (40 m2) in an 1850 ‘Haussmann’ building. This studio is very luminous with its 9 yards of windows. It’s visible beams and it’s original honey-coloured antique wooden parquet give it a very parisian chic style. Marcello, who is a theatre director and actor, has imparted a very theatrical and wonderful atmosphere.
Also available is a TV, VCR along with some French and Italian films. Some staring Marcello himself. Free wifi connection if you bring your own laptop.
 Tourist brochures about Paris, coffee table size art books, bottles of mineral water, an ironing board and a fan are all at your disposal.
