Bedroom #331 (view photo album for more images)
You will access the main bedroom of the suite by an internal corridor opening on the private entry. It is 13m2 wide and very quiet as its window opens onto the internal yard.

The twin beds 80 cm X 200 cm are made of mattress convenient for people who may have allergies. The bedding is completely new. These two beds can be joined to make a double bed 160 cm wide. Another mattress 160cm X 200cm make this queen size bed very comfortable for a couple.
The decor in the workshop is full of souvenirs brought from travels in Asia, with Buddha statues and many masks from different countries.

The living-room is the central part of the loft. It is a large room with a 6m high ceiling Lit by a window 5m high and reflects your hosts passion for traveling. A tall Ramayana wooden statue from Bali stands close to a palm tree of 4m high which grows close to the window. Up to ten people can take place on the two comfortable and large sofas. The wall is decorated with a large painting from Bali representing a moon calendar in a cartoon style. The Louis-Philippe chest of drawers is covered with Asian sculptures and Buddhas from different countries. A large mirror made of painted glass from Marrakech is hanging above.
Your hosts accommodation
As far as architecture is concerned, this area is typical with Haussmann buildings from the middle of the 19th century and Art Déco style from 1920-1930. The facade of the building will be registered soon with the Historical Monuments in Paris, the artist's studio then being considered as part of the Parisian patrimony.

The building was built with a metallic structure by Gustave Eiffel, civil engineer, in 1889, at the same time as his Eiffel Tower and with the same materials.
Your hosts area
Sylvie and François have chosen to live in the 17th district located between Monceau park and the Ternes area, mainly because it is one of the safest areas in Paris.

If you enjoy shopping, the building is just in front of a large discount fashion department store and very close to the Espace Champerret which offers each week exhibitions such as: wine exhibition, gastronomy and antiques.

You will be close to Porte Maillot, the Arc of Triomph, the Defense area with its congresses, the arrival of the bus coming from Beauvais airport and from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport.

You will arrive at the Champs-Elysées in less than 20 minutes walk, easily stroll along the most beautiful avenue in the world or go to the Trocadero to admire the Seine river and the Eiffel Tower.
They both love meeting new people, and quite naturally at the beginning of 2009, after their two children left the nest, they decided to open a bed and breakfast in their home.

The accommodation is very convenient in that respect and they receive visitors from all over the world with much pleasure. They both speak English. Sylvie understands Spanish and he knows a little Russian. François grand-father was from the Ukraine.

Their passions include music, world movie, reading, photographs, cooking and long-distance travels. They have many collections: books, graphic novels, thousands of old vinyl records which they will let you listen to if you are interested.
This is an accommodation of rare quality with most exceptional hosts. Should the walls talk, they would have much to tell you. Your hosts have lots of culture and memories of the past.
You will love this accommodation for its beauty, its originality, as well as for the pleasure of sharing time with your hosts.
Your private suite
Very independent, your suite has its own entry on the third floor without elevator. You will be given a set of keys and you can come and go as you wish.

In the morning, breakfast will be served in your hosts apartment downstairs which you will reach by the internal staircase. Feel free to go barefoot.

This suite is composed of two bedrooms of 13m2 and 14m2 separated by a bathroom with two wash-basins and a shower. You will always be the only paying guests in this B&B: these two bedrooms are always offered to a single family or a group of friends.
Bedroom #332
You will reach this second bedroom directly from the internal corridor opening on the private entry, or from the main bedroom and crossing the shower.

It is 14m2 wide and offers a large single bed 120cm X 190cm, perfect for one or two children, or two ‘petite’ adults or couples (or a single person who likes to be comfortable).

A convertible bed 80 cm X 180cm with a new mattress can be added on request for a third child or a second or third adult.

This bedroom mixes a modern and refined old style. The large window which opens onto a quiet street is in the same ‘Eiffel Tower’ style as the one of the living room.

A modern piece of furniture (grey coloured) with drawers, makes a long table on which stands the television set, the tape recorder, the hi-fi system, the radio and CD player (lots of CDs are at your disposal).
If, like your hosts, you like a late breakfast after 11.00am, breakfast can be served in the dining room .

This room is Art Déco 1920’s style. There is a blue, purple and orange glass 1920’s chandelier. The table and a chest, light brown with a black wooden frame, have been made by a designer in the eighties. The black metallic Art Deco chairs, are copies of 1920 Mallet Stevens chairs, made by the famous architect Andrée Putman for Ecart International.

On the wall is a painting from Amazonia, a Khmer statue coming from Angkor, Buddhas from Vietnam, Laos, Burma. Some little pieces of Chinese furniture and wooden flowers from Thailand complete the decoration of this warm dining room.
Sylvie moved on to become a press agent working for the show business, the record industry, movie industry and then in the publishing field. She is also the writer for many books on cooking recipes - the fruits of having attended cooking lessons in different countries.

François has been a producer and host for radio and television shows. He wrote many books on the rock counter-culture. He has also been (in the seventies) the director for some successful movies. (See the photo album for images of Francois with the Beatles, Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger in the 70’s).
It is worthy noting that for the tourists of Jewish origin who traditionally have kosher food; this part of the 17th arrondissement comprises at least a dozen great eating spots (not only delicatessens and snacks with terraces, but also Italian pizzas, Tunisian couscous, Japan sushi, Chinese caterer) which are all kosher. A synagogue, two catholic churches, a Russian orthodox church, an Armenian church and a protestant temple are nearby the B&B from which all these places of worship can easily be reached on foot.
Made up of different artists workshops, lofts on two or three levels, it is included in guided tours of Paris, and the tourists are always surprised by this strange construction. From the time they were built, the apartments have been occupied by numerous famous or not artists, among them the painter and actor Joe Hamann, a friend of Buffalo Bill, as well as the designer Joseph-Porphyre Pinchon who created the famous Bécassine, the little maid from French Brittany.

Sylvie and François have lived at this amazing address for more than 30 years.
Over time they bought several workshops. Today, they receive you in a magnificent loft of 200 m2 on two levels. Downstairs, on the second floor of the building, without elevator, you will find the living-room with a ceiling up to 6 meters high, the kitchen and your hosts private rooms.

The floor above, where the guest rooms are located, can be reached by an internal staircase made by the famous designer Talon in the seventies, as well as by the staircase of the building.
One of the walls is covered with a large library made of white plastic from the sixties. The shelves are full of thousands of old vinyl LP records collected by François.
A lithography of Mick Jagger, signed by Andy Warhol is above. François is very proud of his collection of records, he knows that many of his visitors are impressed by it and it will be a pleasure for him to show it to you and explain the life of the singers pop and rock stars from the fifties up to now. He has met Elvis Presley, the Beatles, the Stones and Bob Dylan.
There is chandelier, lamp and a bedside lamp in Art Deco style. The walls are painted in peach and the curtains are blue; giving a serene atmosphere. This bedroom has a television set with 20 French channels (plus MTV) and wifi internet connection, a library with CD, videos and books in French and in English.
Two Louis XV chairs are covered with precious materials. A chest made of golden wood and a white marble table, as well as a mirror framed in golden wood complete the decoration in Louis XV style giving a feeling of warmth and comfort.

Above the bed is a library with books and travels books in English and French, videos in French and English. The ground is covered with a Persian carpet rug.
Five to six people can be comfortably seated at the table. The height of the grey metallic chairs (rotating), are adjustable. One of the walls is made of glass, which creates space and gives the feeling that the kitchen in part of the living room.

Continental French style breakfast includes: warm drinks: tea, coffee, milk or chocolate, fruit juice, fresh baguette and croissants, butter, jam, yogurts and cereals.
