Your Hosts, Rose Marie and Thierry are in their forties.
Rose-Marie was born in Paris, Thierry was born in Saint Germain en Laye, a city west of Paris. He came to Paris 15 years ago to live with his future wife.

As true Parisians, they mostly appreciate the diversity of the population in Paris, the numerous shops close to their home, the constant activity of the city, the choice for entertainment (movies, restaurants, museums, walks, gardens, cafe terraces, stores etc).

Thierry loves the history of Paris. As far as Rose-Marie is concerned, she prefers department store shopping for decor and she loves restaurants (she loves good food).

Both your hosts work in the communication and photography fields. Thierry has been working for Parisian advertising companies for 30 years. Rose-Marie has worked for 20 years in professional photographic shops in Paris; but as of the start of 2009, she has been completely devoted to her new passion: the bed and breakfast.

The dwelling
Your hosts' apartment is located on the second floor with elevator of an Haussmann building from 1890, which belonged to a baron. At first, the property was made of three buildings with an inner garden, then the owner divided it in three parts for his daughters who finally sold parts of them in lots.
The bathroom
Your shower room is private. It is located next to your bedroom. For your comfort, Rose-Marie will give you a dressing gown.

It is 5m2, it has a window and it is decorated in 1930s style. Rose Marie has decorated the bathroom with as much detail as the rest of the apartment.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the hall close to your bedroom, it is presented in old china cups with silver cutlery, all of which are family souvenirs.

It is typically French, consisting of warm drinks (tea, coffee or chocolate), milk, orange juice, fresh baguette, brioche, croissants or home-made cakes, butter and jams.

It is plentiful and diversified. Your hosts take much care about the quality and the freshness of the products they offer to you.

Your bedroom
You will reach your bedroom right away when you enter the apartment by crossing the small entry hall. The hall also opens onto the kitchen and the private rooms of your hosts. It is in this hall that breakfast will be served.

Your guest room, 14 square meters wide, is oriented to the West and is very bright.
Its window opens onto the garden, which will offer you much quietness to rest each night.

It’s equipped with a double bed (140 x 190) in ‘rococco’ style and furnished with a wooden wardrobe of ancient style, a small cabinet and two armchairs.

The quilt made of geese feathers has been anti-allergy treated, but if you prefer sheets and blankets you can ask Rose-Marie before your arrival so that the bed will be prepared for you as you wish.
Both Rose-marie and Thierry are very communicative, they love to meet new people and make them feel welcome in their home. So opening a B&B at their home was natural; allowing them to develop their sense of welcome, discovering new cultures and the pleasure of cultural exchanges with tourists from all over the world. In their home you will be receive as friends.

Rose-Marie loves to cook (biscuits, tarts and petite fours). Her main hobby is reading comic strips, she has an impressive collection of them.
She is responsible for the meticulous painting of the characters made by Thierry (unique character items made on order for lovers of comic strips characters - view some of their work in the Photo Album).

Rose-Marie speaks a little English and fluent Spanish. Thierry speaks English well and a little German.
The area
The bottom of Montmartre hill is the ideal place to stay and feel like a real Parisian.
Your hosts area is full of shops, mainly food shops like cheese shops, delicatessen, butchers, groceries and there is an open-air market several times a week. It is one of the rare places in Paris where you will find a ‘village’ atmosphere maintained since the 1950's, due to its church, town hall, market place, cafes and restaurants. Another advantage and not the least: public transportation options are plentiful in this area.

Rose-Marie who has been living in this area since she was 10, has very good memories of her childhood there and knows the area inside out. Thierry, coming from outside Paris, appreciates the mixed population of this rather smart part of the 18th district, all together popular and very touristic.
The apartment is 90 square metres wide and opens onto the street and garden. It is very quiet away from the busy streets.

It has been decorated with much taste by your hosts, both of them being artists, and has a very harmonious feel. Full of colours, your hosts have mixed classic and modern styles. Please see the full photo album for this apartment. It is exquisite.
The bathroom is equipped with a large shower, a wash basin and toilets. Bath towels, bath products and a hair-dryer are at your disposal.
The decoration of the bedroom is elaborate and romantic, creating an exquisite boudoir atmosphere, with Louis XV style furniture. The ground is covered with oak wooden floor boards. There is no carpet.

The walls are painted and decorated with paintings from the personal collection of your hosts. It’s a lovely bedroom; everything has been organised for your comfort and decorated with much taste. The table in the hall is for your personal use.
